Re: Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969)

I don't buy that "double standard" take. Men are different from women. It's not good for a husband to expend his sperm on someone who is not his wife - but it's far, far worse for a wife to receive and absorb the sperm of a man who is not her husband. The betrayal is much, much greater. I ...

Re: Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969)

I agree, one of the best satires on the way middle aged people were affected by the new morality of the 1960s. Dyan Cannon and Elliott Gould provide most of the laughs as the more strait-laced couple. They were both nominated for Oscars and I think they deserved them. Both were elevated by their ap...

Re: Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969)

Nothing will corrupt a marriage faster than for it to become "open".

Well, except for the wife cheating - that will corrupt it even faster (but only after the husband finds out about it, which can take a while).

Re: Kevin Spacey Found Not Guilty - Accusers Were Lying For $

Kevin Spacey might have been acquitted, but I know some male actors who have worked with him when they were young who would have no reason to lie (and would never "come forward" to accuse him publicly for personal reasons) and they have experienced Spacey's predatory behavior. The jurors ...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

(I can't believe any grown adult man cares about seeing bras/bewbs in a movie) Our experiences are quite different. I have known only two men who were not interested in seeing breasts live, in movies or in images. One was: Bruce and the other was his very close personal friend: Alvin. Really. What ...

Re: Music Video Jukebox - A Thread for Music Videos Only

Starseed is the best song OLP has done, imo. An excellent track from that impressive album.

Here's another cut I like from the Starseed album:

Re: Music Video Jukebox - A Thread for Music Videos Only

Does this one work, Seeps?

Nope - it doesn't. I can post the song only with just a picture of Al, but the official video won't post.

Bummer.

Re: Memes

Can you say William F. Buckley? I'll bet it's safe to say that those who wouldn't have a clue what a car cigarette lighter was, also wouldn't have a clue who that guy was either. (...but being the old fart that I am, I loved how spot-on your comment was here, anyway) Thank you, Dargo. If we were Ja...
