Re: Shadow Banning
And so secondly, have you ever then considered the thought that with the inclusion of this "good humor" into threads that might wander away from their original cause for being, that there then might be a whole lot less of the "needless confrontation" within them that I mentioned...

Re: Board down -- now resolved
When I moved 4 years ago it was all very painless. I feel like I must have been extremely lucky now! I put in a change of address online for the post office, updated my address for my bank online, and updated my credit card (I have only one) address online as well. I used the card to buy gas the sam...

Re: Shadow Banning
Fill me in a little Intrepid, if you can or will, about this Budweiser backlash. I’m not clear on it. Is it Bud Light, and what happened? Why should anybody care what brand of beer is bought? What does beer have to do with anything? I would think the boys would be concentrating on the hard, since t...

I've fixed it for now. Let me know if you see it again.

Re: Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies (streaming series)
It will probably pop up on Tubi or PlutoTV sooner or later. There's nothing about it that sounds appealing to me, but I'm sure there's an audience, and those free services seem to grab up all the obscure stuff.

Re: Shadow Banning
Shadow banning is when a user is not really banned, but can post/view everything...but no one can see their posts. I think it's vindictive and nasty. Either ban them outright or do nothing. As for what you see at the top of the page, Jimi: you're seeing active threads across ALL the different forums...

Re: Shadow Banning
It's the worst on Reddit; people posting in subforums and never getting any responses or likes or anything, but never even knowing they are silenced. They just think no one finds them interesting. I don't know about other forums, but this one doesn't allow that sort of thing.

Are there other outlets for your efforts, Dred? Somewhere else you can monetize this? It seems like important work to me, preserving our heritage.

Re: Millstone and Lawrence gone?
A meta thread to discuss other threads and posters who are not here anymore to defend themselves (or incriminate themselves further lol) serves little purpose other than to lead to MORE circular argument. Can we just get back to bickering in threads about movies?

Re: Millstone and Lawrence gone?
The very first time I was banned by TCM, it was a 24 hour thing. It showed under my name and avatar, "Banned." I do not support the idea of banning someone all the way to ISP level. TCM did that to me and so did TopBilled. No device connected to my Internet can view the TB site. That shou...

Re: Millstone and Lawrence gone?
When I say that I mean he was banned. :) EP was instigating too many complaints from too many people, and it got to be more than the management wanted to deal with, shall we say. Making numerous personal attacks on other members should get one "banned". That was the reason for so many com...

Re: Millstone and Lawrence gone?
Well if someone is banned I wouldn't typically make a public post about it unless there was some huge controversy and it seemed worth addressing. I normally consider it "behind the scenes" stuff that isn't worth talking about because it can only cause drama. But since the question was ask...
