Thanks Mr. O'Brady. I listened to it again, and it does indeed sound like an incident from the civil war. I was thinking more along the lines of a bunch of armed-to-the-teeth religeous fanatics holed up in a compound being attacked by a government swat team.
Best wishes

Dear Klondike. Sorry about your loss. I wish there was something I could do or say to help you the way your post has helped me. It has reminded me to thank God for my own wonderful children. God has been good to me, and I’m not sure I always deserved it. I hope these three videos will help raise you...

Dear charliechaplinfan. Please accept my profuse apologies for causing you such offence. My comments were not intended as criticism of your accent, or anyone else’s for that matter. It was simply my pathetic attempt at humor. I shall tread more carefully in future, bearing in mind your sensitivity o...

Gone With The Crirics
Well, Stuart, I read the London reviews of the show, and the critics hate it. However, the opinions of critics and critical opinions are notoriously unreliable. The final word will be that of the paying customers (as it should be), and success or lack of success at the box office. I would certainly ...

Hello all Nice thread. Good selections. I haven’t had time to rummage through all 60 pages of this thread, so if I’m repeating something please forgive me. As a matter of curiosity, are there any songs, or artists that were beneath your contempt when you were younger (state your reasons), but have g...

The ball is sadly over
Dear jdb1, God bless you. I thought I was the only person in the universe listening to ‘After The Ball’. I have the vinyl album, which I bought sometime in the 1970’s. Joan Morris certainly is a wonderful singer, thankfully not of the excruciating twittering soprano type that was typical of the peri...

Lost In Space
I don’t think the ‘Star Wars’ series was particularly damaging to the sci-fi movie genre. It’s always been damaged. Star Wars was simply a formula space opera, the most successful of its kind, with its roots in the old Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon serials of the 1930’s. As for spawning a broader interes...
