Evergreen!

Yippee! I just happened to turn on the tele to discover that Evergreen is about to screen on TCM. This has been high on my list for 40 years with no opportunity to see it. My lucky night. Hope it lives up to its reputation!

This photo makes me shiver and wince. It's a fascinating view of a runaway train.

Kathleen's the only one that doesn't ring a bell. Is she related to Gene and June?

Re: *CANDIDS*

. Did I miss something when my computer was down? Are there no longer any birthdays to be shown? That was my first stop whenever I tuned in to this site and I sorely miss them. . You haven't missed a thing, Anne. Just go to the previous page of this thread and you'll find yesterday's birthdays. I i...

Elizabeth Patterson, Randolph Scott and Dorothy Lamour attend the premiere of "High, Wide and Handsome". August, 1937 High Wide and Handsome ! I saw this as a kid and loved it. I've been waiting (so far, in vein) years for TCM to show this big musical with Randolph Scott and Irene Dunne. ...

Baby Peggy

I just learned that Baby Peggy (Diana Serra Cary) will be making an appearance in San Francisco on Sunday, August 7; in case anyone's interested.

I'm still mad at that trashy Emmy Slattery for "killing" Ellen Robillard O'Hara. I love this picture though! Was her husband a giant, or was she petite?

Re: Napoleon - San Francisco Bay Area - March 2012

I hope the film can tour the world and then gets a DVD/Blu-ray release. Wouldn't one need three televisions to view it? Moraldo - this is spectacular news! What an event this will be - dare it outshine the return of the 2012 TCM Festival? Lynn also posted the news on our board here, and Moira has a...

Re: Robert O taking a break

Oh dear. I hope he's okay. I hate vague news articles (and you know how I worry). It'd be swell if he'd come to the Oasis and hang out with us. I'd be his Oasis houseboy and bring him cool drinks and change the DVDs in the Oasis Home Entertainment system.
