Re: Three Great Actors in One Film

The three big names at the time - Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen and Eli Wallach (all above the title) for The Magnificent Seven (1960) would qualify for this thread. But the supporting players at that time - Charles Bronson, James Coburn and Robert Vaughn subsequently went on to illustrious careers and...

Thank you, Lawrence.

And, no.

I'm Intrepid37 at Hip Forums and decided to use that moniker here as well. It feels right.

Re: Two Great Actors In One Film

Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor - Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967).

I suppose we could name every one she did with Burton as well. Although Burton is certainly no Brando.

Re: Three Great Actors in One Film

Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson and Jason Robards Jr. in Once Upon a Time in the West (1968).

While Fonda and Bronson present the major conflict, it's Robards who comes across as the most human character without losing any of his toughness.

Well, I live in America, Millstone - and I don't see anything positive about ranting race at every measly opportunity.

Unless you happen to be one of those, then heaven only knows what's going on inside you.

Re: Two Great Actors In One Film

Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson in The Missouri Breaks (1976)

I have a marvelously good time watching Brando clown around as a psychopathic "regulator" with a dress-up fetish. Nicholson smartly plays it very straight, thus balancing it.

For sure, Millstone - let's bring race into it. That always helps.

Re: I Just Watched...

Bad movies can often have a charm of their own.

And it can be very entertaining to make a movie about the making of a bad movie. Example: James Franco's The Disaster Artist (2017) about the making of Tommy Wiseau's The Room (2003).

Re: TCM announces it is sunsetting the TCM Forums

Trigger warnings strike me as a tool for the purpose of making the populace emotionally weaker. Making people "woke" just might be making life more difficult for everyone . Except maybe for the "influencers". Ka-ching. My hope is that this too will pass. That woke will become not...

Re: I Just Watched...

I just watched David Lynch's 2017 series 'Twin Peaks' in its entirety. I had watched all of the original series - both seasons - as well as the film 'Fire Walk with Me', so I was really quite interested in where the story would go 25 years later. The doppel-Cooper plot was a lot of fun. Overall, thi...

Re: TCM announces it is sunsetting the TCM Forums

I just learned about this "sunsetting" of TCM.com's message boards the day before yesterday. Having been a member there for about a dozen years or so, I possess very fond memories of posting on those boards every day. My most recent visit there had been in October and now I just found out ...
