Re: Coming Up on TCM
>Maybe it's just me, but if my kid were still a kid, I'd hesitate to introduce her to Classic Hollywood using such examples.< While I agree these aren't the type of classics to get kids to watch. Most of these films are the ones that were shown when we were kids. And look how we turned out. (or mayb...

Re: Desert Fury (1947)
Thanks Moira for bringing this film into the spotlight. I been waiting for a DVD of this for years (also add “I Walk Alone” with Lancaster & Scott) Lancaster did look good in this one; maybe after the gritty roles in “The Killers and Brute Force" and the fact that this was his first film in...

Re: LCD TV GHOSTING ISSUE
Feaito, The TV may have to be set to auto so it will play 480.720 and 1080I. I found this on-line : If the player can play HD-DVD or Blue Ray DVD get those kinds of discs and if not get a new player. You are only showing the flaws in non-HD content. Upscaling makes assumptions about what is in betwe...

Re: EYEBROWS
Same goes for the razor thin mustache. As a kid I remember using my mom’s eyebrow pencil to draw in a mustache if I was playing Zorro or any of the other characters that had a beard or ‘stash. It seems like the thin style is back in facial hair, whether it’s above or below the lips. I was watching “...

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I just watched 1962’s “Convicts 4” from the Warner Archives Based on a true story of John Resko a death row inmate sentenced to the electric chair for a robbery and murder of the store clerk. I remembered this film from New York’s Million dollar movie in the 60’s. as a kid The cast is top notch with...

Re: Clark Gable
I always liked Gable. I think it has to do with the fact that he is an everyman who not afraid to show his vulnerability. He was durable, Intense, lovable, and one of a kind. In films I felt sorry for him, laughed or smirked with him and always enjoyed any of his screen appearances. I found him funn...

Ms.G, I'm not sure I took/found it from Google as "Clark Gable Cartoon" I love the way Warner Brothers lampooned stars of the silver screen.

Shame for not mentioning "J. Carrol Naish " from "What Price Glory" his first film to "Dracula vs. Frankenstein" his 219th. film. He played everything from Arabs to hunchbacks. Great character.
