Mrsl,
I enjoyed Trouble Along The Way, and what you said is so true concerning a role that the Duke played that is so out of the ordinary.
Donna Reed and Sherry Jackson are good. I'm glad someone else appreciates it, too!

SHEER-LUCK

I love Mel Brooks, too. I am going out on a limb here, but does anyone remember The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes Smarter Brother? Madleline Kahn, Marty Feldman, Leo McKern? I laughed so hard that I had to leave the theater twice. But I had been through a recent heart-breaking romance, and I recall ...

Hysterical. LOL. I do a Kate impression myself, so I'll have to figure out how to work in the meatball and a Lucy "Wah...."

I've never heard that story...but I did watch the Kate bio the other night.
I also liked Kate Remembered by M. Scott Berg.

Dear Johnm,
What a great thread idea! Unfortunately, I can't name that tune in 32 bars...
It reminds me of something from the mid-60's, but I really have no clue.

IN COMMON

Dear Judith,
Thanks for playing this. It is a great thread idea.
I was thinking more of a famous actor that they both had
starred with ----Humphrey Bogart in a Vitaphone short called
Broadway's Like That. But Flo Ziegfield is a good one, too.
Why don't you ask another good one?

I'm thinking of someone that they have in common.

Okay. I loved Jean Simmons in Young Bess.
Last summer I actually got to visit Hatfield House north of London.
Didn't know about the info you posted.
I also didn't realize that Frederic March and Florence Eldridge had been married for so long. (48 years!)

Both played Lucy Brady in different versions of Inherit The Wind?
(Florence Eldridge - 1960, Jean Simmons- 1988)

If it is any consolation, some of the highest gas prices in Texas have always been at stations close to the Exxon "White House" complex near the Gulf Coast.
