I probably had the most fun in this film with Jonathan Winters. That goofball on that bicycle in the middle of the desert....
I love his wacky character.

Sorry I didn't move things along more. Gary Cooper Ingrid Bergman Katina Paxinou (Gary now goes at the bottom of the next three. Add two names of actors that then appeared with him in another film. Or the name of an actor and a director.) Hope this clears up the questions. Don't ever say you're too ...

I enjoy the opening scene of The Major and The Minor when Ginger, Rogers, as Susan Applegate, enters Robert Benchley's apartment as a trained representative of the Revigora Hair Restorer company. Before he gets the shampoo, Benchley invites her to slip out of those "wet" things into a dry ...

Doris and Storm Warning
In Doris' bio, written with A.E. Hotchner, she discusses how her father had been a rascist in her formative years with him, and how he had been so intolerant of anyone whose race had been different from his own. When Doris returned triumphantly to Cincinnati for a premiere, she recalls how her fathe...

Brighton Rock
I don't even know if it is available in the US. I watched a burned DVD of it in the UK. If it is for sale, it may be only available in the UK, and the need for a multi-region DVD player would be required. Thanks to Kyle and pktrekgirl for my lovely avatar and it's accompanying Ginger script and pink...

I haven't actually read The Count of Monte Cristo before, so I'm doing it now. Also, Doris Day by A.E. Hotchner, plus two textbooks, one I'm teaching and one I'm learning about. Has anyone read the Uncle John's bathroom reader about Hollywood? Most of the stories I was familiar with on some level, b...

Hi, Mr. Arkadin. Just read the noir thread at TCM and realized I didn't respond to your Brigton Rock query. Hermione Baddeley was also very good in that film. I actually got to walk on that pier last summer where part of the movie was filmed and heard all about it's history. Richard Attenborough rev...
