You are not the only one.

I am assuming something is amiss over there. Some sort of technical issue.

I can not believe that my account was suspended due to something I wrote, but stranger things have happened.

I have tried sending correspondence directly to lzcutter (Lynn).

Howdy R,

Tried to check-in this a.m. to see what everybody at TCM message board was fighting about (er discussing, I mean), but no luck... Same message...

Could be sys maintenance, something to do with Turner layoffs/cutbacks, a really major blow-out among users on the board that required drastic action, or nothing at all...

Time will tell... In the meantime, you have this board...

Ciao,

I found the same issue when trying to access the TCM message boards this morning. I suspect that this one of those weekend glitches that will soon be resolved. I am sure that Lynn, who is in touch with the TCM techs, will address this issue asap when she returns on Monday.

I have left a message at this site to notify others of issue: http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/tcm.com.html

Maybe the site is just down for maintenance, but will return soon.

Hey guys,

I am out of town celebrating a milestone but with MrC but have gotten your messages this morning.

I have been in contact with TCMModerator1 and he is aware of the issue. It looks like everyone is getting the message even him and me.

It is a holiday weekend so not sure how quickly this issue will get addressed.

Hang in there, no one's account that is in good standing has been suspended. So once TCM City is back up, you should be able to log in.

If you have any issues, please let me know.

In the meantime, I am going back to celebrating and hope everyone has a joyous Sunday!

Lynn (who is always ridin' point!)

Thanks LZ!! And Happy Thanksgiving from Canada!!!

You are indispensable and well-deserving of an award something like what Angelina Jolie recently received from Queen EII, but more prestigious... Maybe the Grand Order of the Maltese Falcon, Third Class?

Anyway, the Oasis is a nice respite from the constant jousting and combat of the TCM message board...

Watched the 1963 flick "Charade" on CHCH Hamilton (they air many public domain films) on Saturday and enjoyed it. TCM airing it at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2015. The version CHCH aired was good quality. Don't know what version TCM will air?? Anyway, good movie.

Ciao,

They'll probably blame Louis Calhern.

thanks for replies, folks. Glad it's not just me, since I couldn't imagine what I did wrong.
With the dvd sales fiasco, the missing cartoon segment and now THIS, the station must be under the curse of the 'blood moon'.
Or should this be expected when employees are scared of upcoming lay-offs??

I am back home from my whirlwind anniversary celebration.

From what I understand, there was a glitch in the system, not sure if it was on the TCM side or the message board hosting company side. (And we here at the SSO know a bit about that having had our own hosting company glitches in the not to distant past) The message boards were designed and are hosted by a different company(ies) than those that designed and host the main website.

Also, in this era of budget cuts, severance packages, and lay-offs, we should also try to understand that while the Message Board community is important to TCM, the company is undergoing its own personnel and budget cuts and likely can't afford to have someone on staff or on contract watching the MBs 24/7 to guard against glitches.

Technology is not infallible and neither are the people who program it.

Luckily, given that it happened over a holiday weekend, the site went back up sooner than expected.

Sometimes with technology, you have to take your wins where you can get them.

My apologies to all who were adversely affected by the outage and hope that it doesn't keep you from enjoying TCM in the future!

Glad to be back at the Oasis,
