THE NARROW MARGIN (1952) I love MARIE WINDSOR and CHARLES McGRAW and GORDON GEBERT. The film is corny, implausible, and riveting. Who knew how annoying Gordon could play? Stone face gravel voice McGRAW with superbly beachy WINDSOR makes it all work like a watch. I love this movie.

It is entertaining and presents a rose colored picture of what it was like to be a stewardess (flight attendant) and to fly on planes in the early 60's. Not to mention another romantic Dolores Hart (future Mother Superior) presentation.
My niece is a flight attendant currently.
Last time TCM showed a nice HD video for Come Fly with Me, but it was not posted to WatchTCM, so viewers might need to try to catch it live today at 11:45 ET if they can. (I hope they will post it this time.)

If my YouTubeTV guide is any indication, it won't be. The guide said it was unavailable for streaming access, so I couldn't even watch it "live", because the antiquated law treats that as streaming (meaning, on-demand), when it's really just a slightly different method of watching live TV.

Apparently there was the same issue with no live streaming for the film Coming Home yesterday evening. It is very disappointing that the rights situation is so messed up.

Oddly enough, the previous time it was on TCM it was available on YouTubeTV (I put it on my DVR), but the time before that it wasn't. I'm assuming the time it was available was in error.

Valley of the Sun is another one I'd like to see finally be streaming when it shows up in a few weeks.

I've had that issue with some films as well (Frankenstein 1931 a couple years ago comes to mind). They're usually available on other streaming services, sometimes for free on places like Tubi - but it doesn't make it any less annoying. If I'm paying for it, I should be able to watch whatever is airing.

At 6:45 ET today, Them! is being shown. One of the better Sci-Fi movies of the 50's era. While James Whitmore and James Arness are the stars, I like Joan Weldon. She did a few things after this, including a turn on Perry Mason and then returned to singing. She was also featured in an ad for 1953 Packard(automobile) where you could choose a new name for her and win a car and other prizes. Obviously she never changed her name.
The car is a 1958 De Soto Fireflite Sportsman hardtop.

Joan Weldon was very talented. Recently saw her appeared in "Cheyenne" as a professional singer, where she performed a duet with Clint Walker.

Never have seen this all the way through. Growing up we always went to Astros games when visiting relatives in south Texas. The Astros programs in the 60s and 70s always featured non-baseball events held at the Dome, as it was still a unique venue until the Superdome opened. They had photos and stories about conventions, concerts, Billy Graham, the '73 Battle of the Sexes, NCAA basketball, rodeos, and photos from the filming of this movie. It always intrigued me, but I've never sat through what seemed to be a rather quirky film

I have it set to record on my DVR. Maybe this time I'll get through it.
