You probably already know this, but Charlie there was noted for being THE best tennis playing celeb in all of Hollywood back then.
I didn't, Dargo: Damn, tennis too?
I mean, save something for the rest of, Charlie!

Sorry, Dargo, mere screen name recognition will not work for you. Without the GM avatar your identity may become blurry. You ARE going to reprise your well-known avatar, yes?
Well, actually here laffite, because I had hoped this present situation would be short-lived, I hadn't planned on posting an avatar in the interim.
However, considering I'm now not sure when Lomm might return to discover the PM that Tiki has sent him regarding my little predicament here, I've kind'a decided to use the following one in the interim...
(...but and however again, I can't seem to resize and shrink this one down enough to please the avatar input function around here)
If you're on Windows, IrfanView is a great photo editor for light duty like cropping/resizing images, playing around with the color, and the like. Free for non-commercial use.
Yes it gets tricky to make the Avatar the right size and weight D2.
I had forgotten about Irfanview. Still use the original Windows Paint app to resize.
Saving an image as a JPEG helps it to be smaller in file size.
Love the new image and want to know more Dargo2.
I am so accustomed to the original picture Dargo, this is like a shock to the system.
Thanks Masha!
Where most people have problem is that they can reduce/crop/resize to the correct three hundred by three-hundred-and-fifty size but do not understand how to correct file size. One of the great features of: Irfanview is that there is a menu of save options which includes setting the maximum file size.
Being less than knowledgeable about classic films, I saved Dargo2's avatar and searched the photo using Bing. https://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/73717/d ... p#overview

That same sidecar gag was used by Don Knotts in The Andy Griffith Show.
I made a change to my profile and my account was deactivated.
Sent an email to "Contact us" and received an instant reactivation message.
That could mean Dargo might get his old account back.
The email:
Hello jimimac71,
Your account on "The Silver Screen Oasis" has been deactivated, most likely
due to changes made to your profile. In order to reactivate your account
you must click on the link below:
Did not include the link as it must be specific to my account.
I thought Dargo was fixed already! Dargo2 (or whatever you're using right now), if not PM me and I'll send you a reset password for the old account to your new/temp account that you can change when you log in.

Lomm, your avatar reminds me of an amusing NYT column by Russell Baker written 25-30 years ago about an ad for a movie showing a man with a gun pointing at the reader. Baker muses how disconcerting it is to be so "tarageted" sitting at the kitchen table over coffee and paper. I don't remember too many details but it was funny. This is a type of quirky subject that Baker did so well. I posted about this somewhere once before, it might have been prompted by your avatar as now, or maybe over at the former place.

I sort of thought Dargo would return to his original user name if he could.
I was pleased to get a very useful response via email to reset my account after changing the email address in my profile.
I suppose it is a form of 2 factor authorization.
Was only hopeful the post would help someone else.
