Art Buchwald vs. Paramount Studios

Postby filmlover » April 25th, 2007, 12:14 pm

"Fatal Subtraction" by Pierce O'Donnell and Dennis McDougal is a truly fascinating look at the case that columnist and humorist Art Buchwald brought against Paramount for "borrowing" an idea of his that became "Coming to America", one of the studio's major hits. It truly exposes studio accounting and how a film that made hundreds of millions of dollars could be said to have never made a cent.

Thanks for the three book recommendations, cinemalover. I will have to make time to read all three you've recommended.
