Well, Quentin Tarantino and John Waters will be happy.

From Classicflix.com:

**Criterion** has announced a January 20th release date for the 1935 and 1954 versions of Magnificent Obsession. The focus of the 2-disc set is the Wyman / Hudson version, but also welcome is the 1935 Irene Dunne / Robert Taylor which has never been released on any home video format.

Well, actually the 1935 Magnificent Obsession is already out on DVD in France and in Spain. BTW I particularly like the Stahl version.

Well I have the R2 Universal Sirk set with this on it, so I'm not sure I'll double dip, but the inclusion of the 1935 original is about as tempting as it gets. Plus I'm a sucker for Criterion, so I may just end up adding this one to my collection.
