Will be released July 17, from the Criterion Collection. I received an e - mail from amazon today that it would available on that date and I've already pre - ordered my copy. Great Wilder film with Jan Sterling giving a fabulous performance. Kirk Douglas is fine too !

Fantastic film! One of my favorite DVD releases of the past year! They have showed it many times on TCM also.

You've already demonstrated a great taste in films by choosing Ace in the Hole as a fave. I think it's one of Kirk Douglas' best early roles, along with Champion and Detective Story. His acting still had a rough edged quality then, don't you think? I haven't seen the dvd just yet, though I've watched the film a few times over the years, (it used to pop up on tv 25 years ago too, when TCM was a mere gleam in Ted Turner's eye).
Was the transfer to dvd well done & were the dvd extras any good? Thanks for joining our site.
