Re: The Warner Archive
For the Facebookers here, I just noticed that the Warner Archive has a Facebook page. I wonder how much interaction they'll have. Maybe we can campaign for titles there...
Re: The Warner Archive
DeepDiscount is having a sale on their Warner Archive titles, (which doesn't seem to include the latest batch available at the Warner site, but most of the others.) Most of the discs are at $14.98 although some are a bit more. They do ship internationally and in the States, shipping is free.

Kevin,
Is THE VIKING in here someplace? i can't find it. I have talked to a couple people who claim to have ordered THE VIKING from Warner Archive and have it. So it had to be released, not just announced. And are your sure they accept Paypal? Also do you need to be registered? I assume so?

Re: The Warner Archive
Jeffrey,
I don't know how it works, but as I mentioned, DeepDiscount has many, but not all, of the Warner Archive titles. I suspect Warner holds onto their newer releases for itself for awhile and then allows outlets like DeepDiscount or Amazon to sell them. (This is just speculation, maybe these are the only Archive titles Warner will allow to other vendors.)
At DeepDiscount, under Help and then Payment Options they list PayPal as an option for purchase. I don't know how they work it as far as needing to register.
I had seen The Viking available at the Warner site, but it is no longer there. Dunno why.

Re: The Warner Archive
That Memorial Day sale is mighty tempting. But before I divest my wallet of that "most restful shade of green," I'd like to know whether the DVDs will play on my Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows ME and Power DVD. Perhaps one of you could tell me?
What started me wondering was a couple of online reviews: one at the Home Theater Forum (on this page) reported that a Warner Archive DVD refused to play on a Vista SP1-based HP Pavilion Laptop. Another review (dear, I can't remember where I found it) noted flawless playback on a Windows PC.
And, just for the sake of curiosity, what do the DVD menus look like? I glimpsed a few over at DVD Beaver: blue and plain they were. Do all of them look like that?

Re: The Warner Archive
I have piles of these DVDs and all the menus look alike (though a few have the additional option to view the original trailer).CarrieLiz wrote:And, just for the sake of curiosity, what do the DVD menus look like? Most of mine will not play on my old Samsung DVD player...

Moraldo,
I'm very late in saying so, but I appreciate your answering my questions. Thank you very much.
