Yes, I liked that dry line about needing a driver. Andrew watched with me, he's only seen one episode, and he stayed around to see this one. I'm happy we at last have something we can watch together besides Food Network shows.

Watching the show always makes me want to copy Sam's wardrobe and hairstyles, even though she looks like she's about 5'11" and I'm about a foot shorter. They do everything, the sets, the cars, everything is correct for the time, but as a real person might have had, not movie star glamour. I appreciate that. It always makes me realize how much STUFF we have, food, things, possessions, whereas these folks were doing without for a lot of the time. Makes me want to pare down my life.

Did y'all know that "Andrew Foyle" can sing? I just discovered the actor who played Christopher Foyle's son Andrew (actor/singer Julian Ovenden) has quite an impressive voice:

Isn't that often the case? Some can go years and then you hear them do something like this or a little knock off in a picture and it makes me wonder why I didn't know that.

Julian Ovenden is more well known in the UK as a singer. Beautiful voice.

I mentioned this on Page 4 of this thread but it was kind of in passing so I'm going to be more explicit this time. Those of you who are in the Chicago television area should check your TV guide (whether on your TV system, or weekly booklet), and find WYCC. It's channel 20 on my Uverse system. I spent a very pleasurable day yesterday watching the marathon of mystery movies they televised from noon until Wednesday morning. They played Hetty Wainthropp, a very early Morse and Lewis (it's funny seeing Lewis as the underling), a few Endeavors, and some Miss Fisher (which I have not yet seen), and also a Wallender and Wednesday more of the same. Believe me, if you love mysteries, try your best to find WYCC.

I loved Mysteries and I will try to write to my Cable Company to add this channel - unfortunately I've checked my Cable Lineup from top to bottom and no WYCC listed anywhere. Thanks for the heads up.

WYCC (Channel 20) is one of the three PBS stations that the Chicago area receives. It is owned and operated by the Chicago City Colleges. The others are:

WTTW (Channel 11) - jokingly referred to as Window To Winnetka - is the biggie.

WYIN (Channel 56) is out of Gary, Indiana, but serves Chicago.
