That news is so distressing. She was among my all time favourites.

RIP two greats. I just watched How to Steal a Million a couple of weeks ago (for the 4th or 5th time over the years). It is a fun film.

Hadn't heard about Joan Fontaine until just now. :(

Dear Joe,

As you know - I just love it when you have a typo or add or subtract anything - especially when I see it early in the morning. It makes my day, as I too have several guffaws often and reinforces that we are indeed brothers under the skin...

I just love that Audrey Totter looks so wonderful at 1095 years old!!!! Amazing....

Larry

P.S. - you can slap me if you want...

Joe, many, many thanks for posting that lovely photo of Miss Totter - a rarity with her smiling so brightly. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting her, until she became ill I managed to maintain a correspondence with her that began when I wrote to her asking about her memories of working with George Raft in A BULLET FOR JOEY. She was a sweet, darling woman. God bless her!

Very sad time for us movie fans right before Christmas with so many wonderful talents passing on. I reckon TCM will have to do a reboot with its REMEMBRANCES.

Larry, I'll slap you later. I guess it's just that I hoped that they lived longer, cause I hate to lose them.

Stone, you were lucky to have known Audrey Totter (a swell gal). She was dynamite in "Tension" among many others.

Joe,

Just wanted to let you and other Liv Ullmann fans know that a documentary about her and Ingmar Bergman is now being screened here in the States and may be available via Netflix.

It's called, fittingly enough, Liv and Ingmar.

Obviously she was not 1095 years old when the photo was taken. It was probably taken around 950 AD, just before cameras were invented.

To piggyback on Lynn's information, here is just a little bit more for those in the tri-state area:
