I watched "You were Never Lovlier" again tonight for about the tenth time. It was marvelous to watch It on my gigantic 27" LCD screen in glorious color and dolby sound. (just kidding, of course). But when ever I watch my old movies I often close my eyes and imagine my being in the live audiencce. I dream a lot lately. It takes ma away from the reality of crime and punishment in the world of today.

Her Father occasionally likes to do this - providing backdrop of some of her photographs during her modeling days; Rita was a very successful model and matter of fact she made good money doing it.

These three exotic photographs were taken in the year 1944 during the time she did Cover Girl with Gene Kelly and Company and these are among the most popular photographs of Rita Hayworth and she had a blast doing these photographs with Robert Coburn. She did these for fun and her fans that requested that she do another tropical theme like the she did the previous 7 photographs that I just shared with you.

Rita Hayworth as Rita Cansino when she did Dante Inferno

Rita was 17 years old when she did Dante Inferno and the gown that she wore in that movie was suggested by both her Father and Grandfather for maximum dance movement. She became a professional (certified) at the young age of 13 and her family targeted these movies to unleash her potential as a future actress in musical.

Dante's Inferno has one claim to fame- it marked the feature film debut of Rita Hayworth (billed with her real name, Margarita Cansino shortened to Rita Cansino). She had only recently turned sixteen. Having been trained as a dancer since the time she learned to walk, her scene was fitting, a dance sequence. Her father, Eduardo Cansino, helped choreograph the number. Even though Rita's scene was brief, it took weeks to complete filming because early on, her partner, Gary Leon, sprained his ankle. The film's star Spencer Tracy later called Dante's Inferno "one of the worst pictures ever made anywhere, anytime."
