Alexandra Bastedo RIP

Postby » January 15th, 2014, 12:05 pm

Really sad news. British actress Alexandra Bastedo has died at the young age of 67. She'll be best remembered for her role as Sharon McReadie in The he Champions, along with co-stars William Gaunt and American actor Stuart Damon in the 1960s. Alexandra had a small role in the Morcambe And Wise film The Riviera Touch, was also in Casino Royale and Batman Begins.

Her performance as a Cypriot in the tv mini-series The Aphrodite Inheritance in 1979 made me think she'd have been a better choice for leading lady to Roger Moore in the Bond film For Your Eyes Only, plus the fact she as in her 30s and nearer his age..........................

Like Doris Day, her later yrs were taken up fighting for animal rights. Here's a link with an interview from 2 yrs ago, along with clips from The Champions
