I was nowhere near the remote either time it happened. It sounded like the channel changed, but it was the same channel, but not carrying what it was supposed to on that station (ME-TV!) It started showing CBS crap! One time it was the network news. The other some crime show! It did cut in on the hour mark, but it wasn't supposed to! When it cut in on the 3 Stooges it came back to the show a half hr later when the news ended! WTF???

I'm sure you weren't near the remote, Hibi. Like I said, I was just kiddin' you there. And of course, only kidded ya because I've done that myself and after becoming surprised at what I was watching had suddenly changed. (that's when I exclaim, "HEY, WTF happened?!!!, and then begin laughing at myself as I reach down next to my butt to discover the reason)

So, would I be correct in assuming you get your TV feed from off-the-air local broadcast stations? And that you watch MeTV via a digital sub-channel?

(...ya see, I'm pretty sure the reason this has never happened to me while watching MeTV is because the MeTV channel on Dish is a complete different and separate channel in its guide, "011", and I think with its satellite feed coming directly off perhaps MeTV's Chicago-based station)

Yes, I know you were kidding, I was just trying to explain what happened. No, I get ME-TV through my cable company, Spectrum. So I'm not sure if its a cable snafu or what. I thought about calling them, but I doubt the people answering the phones would know anything. If it keeps happening, I may have to.

Yes, I know you were kidding, I was just trying to explain what happened. No, I get ME-TV through my cable company, Spectrum. So I'm not sure if its a cable snafu or what. I thought about calling them, but I doubt the people answering the phones would know anything. If it keeps happening, I may have to.

It's still coming to you from a local station, even if you get your TV from cable or satellite, unless you are on DirectTV. MeTV has no cable distribution directly. It's all through local affiliates, just like NBC, CBS, ABC, etc. The only exceptions are:

- Direct TV (satellite and streaming)
- Frndly TV (streaming)
- Philo TV (streaming)

These are the only three companies that have direct distribution from MeTV without going through a local, over-the-air broadcast affiliate. All MeTV affiliates should be doing a station identification at the top of each hour, either by voiceover, on-screen graphics, or both.

Edit: Dish Network used to have a contract to distribute MeTV directly, but it expired in 2023.

It's interesting, though, how a brain transplant manages to change hair color.

Mentioning change in hair colour reminds me of the rarely seen 1957 film She Devil. Kyra (Mari Blanchard) is deathly ill. Two doctors cure her with a serum they've been working on. It turns her into a sort of monster. She goes to a dress shop to buy new clothes, and whilst there, sees a man with a wad of cash in his hand. "I want that money!," she exclaims. She grabs it and hits him over the head with a glass ashtray. The police are called, she runs into a changing cubicle. The police go from cubicle to cubicle, saying they're looking for a dark-haired girl wearing a cheap black dress. She panics but in her panic realizes she has the power to turn her hair blonde! And since it's a changing room in a dress shop, she finds a robe hanging, ditches her dress, and emerges, with enough money to buy a new dress.

This is one I want to see. I get the title confused with the one where a woman is hypnotized (by either Chester Morris or Tom Conway) into becoming a regressive "she-creature" from the primordial ooze with no hair of any kind, lol.

The movie you confuse it with is Voodoo Woman, also from that great year for horror, 1957. Both films are about greedy ladies, but the lass in She Devil can't compete with the evil woman whom Tom Conway turns into this:

Swithin, I've never seen VOODOO WOMAN. So Tom Conway is in that one too.

I looked up Chester Morris and Tom Conway movies, and SHE CREATURE popped up in both their filmographies. I guess my memory isn't totally kaput, lol.

Voodoo Woman is a follow-up film to She Creature. Both films were produced by Alex Gordon and directed by Edward Cahn, as well as featuring many of the same supporting actors, like Marla English, and Lance Fuller.

This was a follow up to The Amazing Colossal Man (1957), I wish this one would be shown. I haven't seen it in years but I think it was better than War Of The Colossal Beast. The first one has the Colossal Man as a normal looking, articulate guy who slowly gets more insane. The second one just had the guy with a messed up face who doesn't even talk.

They celebrate neither Labor Day nor Labour Day. They do have a holiday in May (two in fact). The first one is the first Monday in May, called early May bank holiday, and the latter one is the last Monday in May, called spring bank holiday.

The last holiday before Christmas is the summer bank holiday, which was last week. It's the last Monday in August.

They aren't very creative with their official government holiday names.
