You're kidding, right?
"On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright moron" ===H.L. Mencken (1880=1956)
Re: First Film that comes to mind...
Ah, no I'm not. I can readily think of three movies in which the plot involves the inner workings of a car company.
And so laffite, if you can't, then maybe leave this one for another.
(...tell ya what though...IF no one other offers up a reply within a day from now, I'll change to something else, okay?!...but here's a hint to one of 'em I'm thinking of here...it starred Clifton Webb and among a number of big names of the time)

I think lafitte is thinking about
Woman's World. it's a Fox film, starring Clifton Webb, Van Heflin, June Allyson, Fred MacMurray Lauren Bacall and Rhonda Fleming. TCM will show it next Monday. It s a good film. I would have answered this obvious answer if I had been on the bds.
You guys dont know your Fox . Films LOL

Well, actually Kay, 'Woman's World' -- a film I did indeed know the title of -- was indeed the movie I attempted to give laffite the hint about and as just one of movies that came to my mind when I entered that next of mine up there. One of the things I tend to remember about it especially is the tour of the future car styling studios that Webb takes his group of possible executive replacements on during one particular scene. I always really wanted to be a car stylist/designer and not an airline employee, ya know...but maybe you didn't.KayFrancis wrote: ↑August 28th, 2024, 7:33 pmI think lafitte is thinking about

(...and coincidentally, the answer that Swithin gave for it of 'Ferrari' was another one I was thinking of as well)
And now Swithin's next here is "pudding".

I believe there's a scene in the film 'The Story of G.I. Joe' (1945) in which one of the soldiers gets a Dear John letter.KayFrancis wrote: ↑August 28th, 2024, 8:20 pm Dargo, then why didnt you answer it lol. Instead of the crack about are you kidding?
