Yes, The Eddy Duchin Story, Tyrone Power and Kim Novak. Such a good film, beautifully photographed and the location shots of NYC and music were so great. Love this biopic. Your thread Skimpole
Re: SPOILERS!
The movie climaxes in the Caribbean, and then is dedicated to the inventor of the sowing machine.
Re: SPOILERS!
Excuse me here skimpole, but kind'a like Fred Gwynne asks in that one coutroom comedy about "youts", what exactly is a "sowing machine"?

Would it be something I wouldn't know about because I was never a farmer?
(...although as a kid, I DO once remember one spring day planting some corn stalks in the backyard of our suburban Los Angeles home...that's when my mom told be I couldn't harvest until it grew "as high as an elephant's eye"!)
LOL
Re: SPOILERS!
I know! That was very impressive on Swithin's part, I must say.
But still I ask: What's a "sowing machine", skimpole???
Yeah yeah, I know. It was just a typo, wasn't it.

(...okay Swithin...you're up, ol' boy!)
