It was the only film together for the two leads.

Question here, Swithin:

Are you implying with the words "Titanic-like catastrophe" that the film in question is also of the seafaring variety?

There is that connection, hence the capital "T." But only near the end.

In another movie, the bad guy (supporting role) in this film utters one of the most famous lines in any movie, including the word "alive." But at the end of the film we're going for here, he ends up dead, a suicide.

Correct, Bagel. (It's a shame Charles Boyer and Jean Arthur never made another film together, they had great chemistry. And of course the bad guy was Colin Clive.)

Hint: The movie was a comedy distributed by a major Hollywood studio.

No idea. The Big Cube involves both an inheritance and insanity, but it isn't this movie.

Well Risky Business takes place in Chicago, so it can't be that. Back to the Future takes place in California, and the character is misidentified by the brand of underwear he uses. But inheritance and a woman thought to be in the picture don't come into it.
