Follow Your Heart (1936)

Postby Fossy » January 6th, 2013, 6:21 pm

Follow Your Heart (1936)
Marion Forrester ( Marion Talley) is engaged to Harrison (John Eldridge). Plans to marry are constantly thwarted by her father, Henri, (Nigel Bruce) who lends her money to Gloria ( Vivienne Osborne).
Uncle Tony (Luis Alberni) Joins an opera company as conductor, but the opera company has gone broke, so he brings them home to freeload on Marion. Gloria repays the loan, but again Marion`s marriage is postponed again because Henri has used the money to finance the opera company.
With the opera company is tenor Michael ( Michael Bartlett) who discovers that Marion is a soprano. Following a successful performance Harrison gets the flick and Marion takes off with Michael and the opera company.
This was Marion`s only movie, although a couple of shorts may be found on youtube. Marion sings beautifully, but her speaking voice is atrocious. I suppose that is why this was her only movie.

Sounds interesting, Fossy. Of course you had me hooked as soon as you mentioned Luis Alberni.
