THE COUPLE...

Post by Sue Sue Applegate »

Well, page one was a total hoot, guys and gals!

Barb does seem to resemble Carolyn "The Opposite Sex" Jones to me
(her blonde ambition years).

For me, Mr. and Mrs. both look so happy. Like they just paid off the mortgage and burned it in the fireplace while the filled champagne flutes wait for them on the Italian hand-carved mahogany coffee table that Uncle Bob gave them, and Montovani is playing on the stereo...

I hold your hand in mine, dear,
I press it to my lips,
I take a healthy bite from your dainty fingertips,
My joy would be complete dear, if you were only here,
But still I keep your hand as a precious souvenir
The night you died I cut it off,
I really don't know why
For now each time I kiss it
I get bloodstains on my tie
I'm sorry now I killed you
For our love was something fine
Until they come to get me
I shall hold your hand in mine.

Ah, Jon, how sweet a sentiment.
Like myself, you doubtless have the Heart of a Child.
I keep my specimen floating in lavender brine in an antique tobacco jar on a shelf above my desk.

Well, now that our stalwart Jon has expedited the name change for our site so beautifully, I for one am going to miss that '50s blissed out couple who appeared to be so delighted to see me each time I logged onto our ol' TCM Refugees page. In my more cynical moments, I figured that they must've had a hopper car load of prozac somewhere, though I also liked to think that those sweet kids just got engaged over a soda at the malt shop after seeing a monster movie like The Blob together at the Bijou.

Thanks Jon. I think.

Well I could put them back if people think I should.

Personally, I miss the two of them. Every time I saw them it always made me think of this thread (particularly the first few entries) and put a big smile on my face!

Jon,

Please put them back. I like the reels of film but the couple was the best. Reminded me of my childhood for some reason though my parents were never that blissed out.

Were times i wished they had been.....

Jon!!
Thanks for bringing them back! Maybe our next poll should be to give them each a name?? Somebody else can be the poll watcher this time though, if anyone's interested...

Glad they're back. But I thought they were Tammy and Troy..
