Hi Judith,

Have a wonderful, happy birthday! So tell me, what's it like to finally turn 21? Be sure to dry behind your ears! Whatever you do, enjoy the day to its fullest!

Fondly,

Hollis

Many, many thanks, my friends. It's the big 6-0 for me - amazing! And I assure you I don't look a day over 59.

It's a typical Feb. 3 in New York -- snowy, dark, dank, chilly, dreary, etc. I'm used to it by now, but it brings to my mind all the birthday parties spoiled by bad weather. It used to snow a whole lot more when I was a kid. However, I have lots of cards, paper and "e" to enjoy, and there was a big bouquet of pink roses on my desk this morning, so it's going to be a good day.

February is a big month in general for birthdays (has something to do with Spring mating rituals, I suppose). I can think offhand of several notables I share this date with:

Felix Mendelssohn
Gertrude Stein
Norman Rockwell
James Michener
Joey Bishop
Fran Tarkington
Blythe Danner
Morgan Fairchild
Nathan Lane
Dave Davies

Also, my parents. While not famous they are pretty important people. The three of you help to make February a more pleasant month.

Now I realize why so often our thoughts are similar. We are of the same generation with only a couple of years separating us.

Thank you to everyone once again for your good wishes and the neato musical selections. You made yesterday a lovely day for me, horrible weather notwithstanding.
