Re: Memes
Ah see? That just goes to show you how different we may be in real life.
I'm a natterer-chatterer and often mindlessly speak aloud to myself-why having a parrot was the PERFECT pet!
And I'm always complaining like Woody Allen about the horrifying state of "our culture" and how no one knows anything anymore.
Even Shatner couldn't take it-

Re: Memes
Yes, but ya see Tiki, what I've come to notice about this sort of thing is that no matter the quantity of what is being said NOR what might be the topic that is being said by another, if the SOUND of their voice I find to be pleasant to my ears, I STILL would have no cause to want to silence them.TikiSoo wrote: ↑November 20th, 2023, 1:30 pmAh see? Yep, it's as fundamental as that. You might call it a "tonal quality" sort of thing. Or in other words, IF someone does indeed possess a "pleasant sounding voice", I dare say I could probably listen to them rattle on until the bovines return to their usual place on residence.
I mean after all these years, I'm sure you've noticed how many times I've brought up the idea of some people having "pleasant sounding/terrible or grating sounding voices" in threads, right?!
(...uh-huh, and not only in threads where I've been moved to express my opinion on Ben Mankiewicz's NASALLY one...and of which btw, I STILL can NOT believe nobody but ME seems to hear and/or at least ADMITS to hearing, somehow?!!!) LOL

Re: Memes
Well Dargo, I seem to find almost everyone on TV news has a nasally voice or sounds like they swallowed ground glass.
Ben's voice is one of many. Just watch and listen to the Evening News on ABC or CBS.
I blame some on my elderly hearing. At least Ben doesn't talk too fast. That is common and annoying on TV.
Years ago, when working for a living and riding the bus were a thing, there was this girl and I admired her looks each morning.
One afternoon, much to my surprise, there she was on the bus before me. I sat across from her intentionally.
I said something and Minnie Mouse replied. So much for a pretty face. You can only bite your tongue so hard before it bleeds.

In these regards jimimac, and while I would say ABC anchor David Muir's voice is rather monotone sounding (his hushed inflection used in every sentence typically being the same), I think CBS anchor Norah O'Donnel's voice is quite pleasant, although she DOES overdo the whole "empathy" thing a bit too much for my tastes.
Yep! My point exactly.jimimac71 wrote: ↑November 20th, 2023, 2:37 pm

(...don't ya just hate when this kind'a thing happens?!...what a turn-off, huh!)
