Someone's having a birthday!

Thanks, everyone.

Quite the Noirish birthday -- blizzard, death of an Illinois political hero (yes, there are such things: http://www.suntimes.com/news/obituaries ... -dies.html ), and stuck all day in an apartment with no water service (major repairs all day) while waiting for a cable/internet installer whose name is apparently Godot. Capped by learning that Godot failed to show because the apartment complex had given us the wrong address of our building. He is rescheduled for today, but that means I gave USPS the wrong address for forwarding our mail. Oy!

But hearing "Happy Birthday" sung over the phone by the just-turned-3 older granddaughter and having dinner prepared by our younger daughter & her partner turned the day all around (and a present of tix to see Green Day later this month was a wonderful surprise: Do you have the time/To listen to me whine/About nothing and everything/All at once/I am one of those/Melodramatic fools/Neurotic to the bone/No doubt about it). And our two granddaughters (and their handlers) arrive for a visit from Fairfax VA on Saturday. Life is Good.
