Re: *CANDIDS*
What a lovely picture of Charlie, a lovely Californian tan, it sets off his silver fox hair to perfection. Thanks Joe.

That pix of Joan Lorring must be from the wonderful Martin Gabel film "The Lost Moment" (1947)

.
Edie Adams, one of the few women in entertainment, besides Debbie Reynods, that I ever felt sorry for. When Ernie Kovacs died, he left her a ton of debt, and I understand she took any and every job she could to pay off all of his backers. I believe it took her something like 15 years, but she did it.

Re: *CANDIDS*
Fernando, I thought the pic of Joan Lorring was from "The Corn Is Green", in which she got an Oscar nomination.
Anne, indeed Edie Adams was a trouper and paid in full. God bless her.

I'm probably wrong Joe. I haven't seen that Bette Davis' film ...mongoII wrote:Fernando, I thought the pic of Joan Lorring was from "The Corn Is Green", in which she got an Oscar nomination.

Hi Fernando,
I recommend that you see "The Corn is Green" (1945).
It is one of Bette Davis' finest performances and an intelligent movie with a good storyline.
Mildred Dunnock is in it also and Rosalind Ivan - both good actresses.
Actually, everybody in the cast is excellent.

Re: *CANDIDS*
Thanks for the recommendation Larry. I'm not sure if I have this film on DVD-R or tape. I'm certain I have the Kate Hepburn 1975 version.

I didn't recognize Virginia O'Brien without her usual deadpan look! Such a pretty lady.

Lewie Louaaaaay - he must've been in every movie ever made. When I was watching "The Fastest Gun Alive" I saw him questioning Glenn Ford. Wow. What a career. Him and John Ridgely; the two workingest actors in Hollywood.mongoII wrote:HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Re: *CANDIDS*
John Ridgley--saw him turn up in "Streamline Express" (1935) the other night, and why his sudden appearance should have been a surprise, I don't know. Maybe it's because he looked so young.
The frame captures below aren't the greatest, but... Can you see him on the right? As a steward on the Express, he's just being assigned to search for Esther Ralston's missing diamond.

Re: *CANDIDS*
Noble Johnson was also the "young" Indian leader in She Wore Yellow Ribbon. Considering he was in his late sixties at the time it was interesting casting.
