SURE! But I wouldn't even know where to begin.

( I did go on iTUNES to sample his different music to see if any melody rang a bell. I'll keep doing that. )

Thanks Wendy. Neither of those are the song I don't remember. Does Elvis play a piano at all. I seem to remember piano accompaniment. Don't rack your brains, okay?

OK. Yes, he does play piano.

We haven't even begun to wrack our brains! but it is kind of fun guessing, and it gives me a reason to post more Elvis songs. :D

These songs don't sound familiar to me ChiO. But Costello's voice mixed with the GREAT music of Bert Bacharach is haunting. The second song brought tears to my eyes. Costello's voice reeks of heartache and imploring. If Bert could sing, he'd sound like Elvis Costello. Thanx so much for posting this!

Yeah, see Burt and Elvis together was a thrill. First together, then just Burt doing his stuff, then Elvis doing his, then together again to close.

I never thought I'd hear Watching the Detectives and Do You Know the Way to San Jose? during the same concert.

Just reported today, Joseph H. Kelley (1945-2013) died in September.

A Chicago suburban kid, in 1966 his band, the Shadows of Knight, made
one of the most influential records in Rock 'n' Roll history on a small
Chicago record label, guiding hundreds of garage bands and, later,
punk bands. The song's writer, Van Morrison, thanked the band for
helping him keep going with the royalties as he struggled to find
his niche as a solo artist.

Starting as his band's bassist, then switching to lead guitar, he left the
band because he wanted to play the Blues...and he did, playing the
Chicago Blues for years.

Perfect. Thanks for that, ChiO.

Watching all night last night, the testimony that moved me most was given in the special narrated by Christiane Amanpour. This was told by one of the guards who had held Mandela during the last years of his captivity. He said that he was the one who came and told Mandela he was to be released. When Mandela walked out of his cell, the prison administrator and many other officials were there, including this guard, waiting to bring him out to the front gate. Mandela walked out of his cell, over to the administrator. He smiled. The administrator outstretched his hand, to shake hands. Mandela opened up his arms wide for a moment, just standing open, inviting the man to an embrace. The administrator was overcome. Mandela hugged him. The administrator started to cry. The guard said that at that moment, all his indoctrination, all that he had been told about these people, that they were his enemies, completely fell away.

On Monday, Heaven gained a tenor sax, flute and oboe player.

Yusef Lateef (1920-2013). R.I.P.

Oh bummer, ChiO... I'll have to get out my Lateef cd's and have a little memorial service of my own.

Heaven must have needed a high tenor harmonizer because the best
was just taken. Phil Everly...at 74.

Born in Chicago on January 19, 1939, he and his two-year older
brother, Don, made much of the music that many of us grew up
with and still love.

Rockabilly harmony of the highest order.
