Re: *CANDIDS*
While I've only been able to get through 2% of the pages so far, I had to stop to say thank you for this wonderful ongoing addition to the SSO. We all owe you a debt of gratitude, me perhaps more than others, since a friend stumbled on the site by doing a Google search on an actor and coming up with one of your candid shots. He passed the URL on to me, and that makes me truly grateful to him as well.
While many of the photos are publicity shots, and many others are staged photo ops, it's clear that most of them are truly candid and show that even the biggest stars were only human when it came to their husbands/wives and especially children. Not all, clearly, were candidates for "No wire hanger!" infamy.
Viewing them also got me to wondering if anyone knows what happened to Ken Murray''s film collection. (For the youngsters who are asking Ken Who?: He was a vaudevillian who had a variety show in the very early days of TV - 1950-1953). I remember Ken used to show his home movies as a part of his show. They were "special" because his home movies were all of the most famous Hollywood people. And yes, they all carried on in front of the camera just as unconvincingly "normal" as Uncle Frank and Aunt Sara do at Timmy's Birthday Party!
So, thanks again, mongo11, and please keep 'em coming.

Re: *CANDIDS*
Isn't Mongo and his thread wonderful, Lucky? He is a great guy and what a wonder when it comes to photographic research!
Hollywood My Home Town (1965) is here:

Hollywood Without Makeup (1966) is on youtube in three parts:

I'm not sure what happened to the film collection itself, though I'd look for Murray's children online to see if they may have retained the rights. Hollywood Without Makeup(1966) is being aired on TCM on Sat., March 8th at 7 AM (ET). Two of Murray's compilations of his films are available online:Lucky Vassall wrote: if anyone knows what happened to Ken Murray''s film collection.
