Re: Vote for Your Favorite Movie Quotes for the Banner
I hope this is the right place for a suggestion for the banner quote!
I just heard this in Mystery of the Wax Museum(1933), Glenda Farrell speaking:
"I'd rather die shaking cocktails and bankers than expire in a pan of dirty dishwater."

Re: Vote for Your Favorite Movie Quotes for the Banner
Today's quote, "I like things the way they are now. I can pick up my paper in the morning, read about a murder, and enjoy it," suggested by Masha, was originally spoken by William Powell in The Ex-Mrs. Bradford (1936). The screenplay is credited to Anthony Veiller, but I suspect that Mr. Powell gave such a line a delicious spin.

Re: Vote for Your Favorite Movie Quotes for the Banner
I hope that this is not overly long for the space:
Henry Van Cleve: Crime? I'm afraid I can't think of any, but I can safely say my whole life was one continuous misdemeanor.
Heaven Can Wait (1943)

Re: Vote for Your Favorite Movie Quotes for the Banner
I discovered this quote today. I do not know if it is appropriate for use as it does not appear within a movie:
If it's a good movie, the sound could go off and the audience would still have a perfectly clear idea of what was going on. - Alfred Hitchcock

It's a very good one. I think we should do some behind the scenes type banners with directors too. That's an interesting idea.

And there it is.

Re: Vote for Your Favorite Movie Quotes for the Banner
I thank you for using my suggestion. I like very much the quotes about movies which you are presenting. They are an added dimension.

I really liked your idea of directors (as you can see by the last several banners!)
Re: Vote for Your Favorite Movie Quotes for the Banner
I would like to nominate:
"Human beings share the same common problems. A film can only be understood if it depicts these properly." - Akira Kurosawa

Re: Vote for Your Favorite Movie Quotes for the Banner
The quote that has been posted as a banner is a paraphrase from a quote from David Staller, the longtime friend of the late Robert Osborne. Mr. Staller relayed the message that "He told me to tell everyone he'll see them at the after-party."
