I worked with many of the top glamor ladies of our time. Most were beautiful. But in person, not in films, the most beautiful of all was Linda Darnell.
I found myself staring at her often - it was a beauty I had never seen before. I am sure a lot of it was an inner beauty coming forth. RIP dear one.

Martha, my wife always said, if there was one movie star I could look like it would be
Linda Darnell.
Moira, I,m glad that you liked the image of the lovely Spring Byington. Did you know that she left her body to medical science?
Indeed it was a day of birthdays for the movie stars. Bless them all.
Jean Arthur and Rita Hayworth worked together on one film - Only Angels Have Wings back in 1939. They became good friends during the film and Rita had a wonderful time on that film working with Jean and it's main star Cary Grant.
I'm surprised to see Julia Adams is still alive today and born on the same day as Jean Arthur and Rita Hayworth! ... I know Marsha Hunt is still alive and I hope that she'll reach 100.
Rock Hudson with his pal birthday boy George Nader
Despite the fact Nader's career was more or less sabotaged by Universal and sacrificed to the tabloids as being gay in order to save Rock's much more lucrative reputation, Hudson and Nader remained life-long friends. Nader was named one of the beneficiaries of Hudson's $27M estate when the star died of AIDS in 1985.
