Well . . . only 25 members have voted.

I counted 65 members (ignoring one spammer) who have joined the SSO since October.

It remains to be seen whether the moderators will abide by the principle of "majority rules" when there is a larger "Silent Majority" who didn't vote.

For those who haven't yet voted (and there are hours left), please cast your vote.

. . . of course, not voting is also "casting a vote." The difference being, nonvoters let others make their decisions for them.

Thompson wrote: December 21st, 2022, 2:11 pm . . . I’ve noticed that new threads are created by the minute. I would like to see some ease in that. I’m new of course and only know the people from the old board but I don’t think a new thread has to be made for posters to express their opinion on a subject. In other words, I’m for keeping the threads at a minimum.
Interesting P.O.V., Thompson! Way I see it, usually the more discussions the better it is for a forum . . . which thrives and survives on activity.

That said, I somewhat agree with you. Personally, I don't get much "value" from beaucoup posts that consist of only Twitter screenshots. But, it takes all kinds to make a discussion board.

One goes by percents these days, and, as of today, the percents tell the story.

Not to heighten the suspense (though it may be nearing decisiveness) look for a SURGE in the final 24 hours. There are those lurking and thinking and thinking which may precipitate a ball of flame, a proliferation of votes never before seen.

One hopes that people are realizing how much simpler a "like" button would be, rather than having many of us using the quote function, responding with various icons and symbols -- or just the word "like: -- to say like. That would make this board a very cumbersome place, and more difficult to navigate. It's simply good practice and sensible strategy to allow a "like" button.
