The Honeymoon KIllers (1970)
The Honeymoon KIllers (1970)
The Honeymoon Killers. Directed by Leonard Kastle. With Shirley Stoler and Tony Lo Bianco.
A nurse and her lover pretend to be brother and sister and kill lonely women and swindle their money. Based on real events, the movie looks both amateurish and realistic, and the combination gives more impact to the story. I had a bit of a problem believing that people accepted that they were brother and sister even when the speak with very different accents, but that's a minor quibble. Shirley Stoler and Tony Lo Bianco are excellent in their roles.
When in doubt, have another one.

What is it about Raymond Martinez Fernandez and Martha Jule Beck that makes them so fascinating to filmmakers? According to Wikipedia, at least four movies have been made about "The Lonely Hearts Killers." The movie that you've written about, Arsan444, is arguably the best dramatization.

The Mexican version, Deep Crimson (1996) by Arturo Ripstein is quite good. Regina Orozco in the Stoler part is crazy good.
