I never understood the "I be like" aberration. It's so much easier & clearer to say "I feel/think/am"

Those are called "Weeping Angels" and are a common statue theme in cemeteries:

I've seen this one in a New Orleans mausoleum, luminated by a blue stained glass window:

Houdini has a "Mourner" not an Angel:

I'm guessing because his beloved Bess is buried elsewhere, alone.

(I be like) is supposed to be “ironic” Ebonics or southern slang. I used to be irritated by it too but I realized the English language is always evolving so I don’t care as much. It’s not like everyone nowadays speaks Chaucerian era English or anything just because that is technically the most traditional.

I suppose that's a decent point here, LH.

I mean, if Brando would've instead said, "I could'VE been a contender", does that really have the same ring to it?

(...probably not, huh)

Weeping Angels are now more popularly known as a race of predatory creatures in: Doctor Who (2005 - ...). They have been voted several times as the scariest monsters in the series. They are known as 'kind' murderous psychopaths because they typically do not kill their victims. They instead feed on the 'time energy' released by sending their prey into the past.

The reason they cover their eyes is to prevent their looking at each other. That is important because their natural defense mechanism is to turn into stone when any sentient being looks upon them. Two of them seeing each other at the same time would lock them as stone for all time.

They are particularly scary because of their speed. A single blink of the eye is sufficient time for them to 'unlock' and move closer to their victim. They enjoy terrorizing their victims by baring their fangs and claws as they attack despite their not intending to physically harm their victim. They were introduced in the appropriately named episode: Blink (2007).

There are many short videos of them on YouTube.

That was my family. And it was huge - mom was one of twelve and all her brothers and sisters smoked, as did my dad, my grandparents, and every single person who came around as a friend. Many a night I had to go outside to get outta the fog.

So, did your mom share any other similarities with the woman puffing away up there?

(...did she ever fixate on a particular type of clothes hanger for instance?)
