TCM Pays Tribute to Aldo Ray on His Birthday

Post by monsieur_sniffles »

By playing "The Day They Robbed the Bank of England" with audio and video completely out of sync...

Happy Birthday, Aldo! This one's for you.

Too bad, I love Aldo Ray. I work for the town he was born in - PenArgyl, PA a few residents remember him.
He was the sweet simple kind of guy we all "knew".

Many more remember very different charactor Jayne Mansfield, who still receives visitors to her gravesite in PenArgyl.

What kind of name is that for a town? Is it Welsh? So Aldo and Jayne were from the same town? Didn't know that!

The Marrying Kind is a very tense movie, in that, because it's Aldo Ray, one keeps waiting for him to go berzerk. And it keeps not happening...

I was especially jazzed about "Bank of England" as I've only seen it once before, and it was mostly on in the background. So there was a lot of

"Wait, Aldo Ray is the leader of the titular 'They'?"
"Wait, a dark-haired, gap-toothed, larger-nosed Peter O'Toole is his Petrovich?"
etc
