Bronxgirl48 wrote: September 17th, 2023, 12:56 pm Congratulate me -- I sat through THE WHITE TOWER.

Glenn Ford, Valli, Claude Rains, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Oscar Homolka and a badly miscast Lloyd Bridges go mountain-climbing. Viewers unfortunately have to endure the tedious symbolism which accompanies their arduous and boringly predictable trek. (where is Forrest Tucker when you need him?)
I've never heard of this film. What an odd cast.

I know, right? You didn't miss a thing. Lloyd Bridges is terrible.

That's good to know! Life's too short.

Yeah, I figured. There was something off about the angle of Muir's face in that pic.

Hi, guys. I am once again "under the weather", that tired old euphemism I guess. A pesky Life Problem has reared its ugly head. Please forgive me if I stay away from the board for a few days. I do not mean to sound so melodramatic.

Kindly tawk amongst yourselves in the interim.

I want to wish one of our veteran posters, rohanaka, a very happy birthday this September 26.

See you all soon.

Thanks, Hibi.

Could someone get in touch with rohanaka (Kathy)? I tried to send Happy Birthday greetings in a PM but do not see anything in my Sent folder so not sure she received it and I'd hate to think Kathy thought I would forget her special day.

"He just gave me one of his wham-bang specials this morning, and I'm mad at him."

This line from Brian De Palma's DRESSED TO KILL always makes me smile.

Canadian-born Victor Jory's Southern "trilogy" -- GONE WITH THE WIND, THE FUGITIVE KIND, THE MIRACLE WORKER.

All three leads in THE GOODBYE GIRL are southpaws -- Marsha Mason, Richard Dreyfuss and Quinn Cummings.

More lefties: Diane Keaton, Eva Marie Saint

The most unbelievable part of THE MUMMY'S SHROUD is an overheated (literally and figuratively) Englishman who demands beer but adds "and make sure it's cold!"

Dargo you are too generous. Thanks.

I thought of you when TCM ran those Julius Marx movies, lol. Also a segment in THIS IS ELVIS, when during You Bet Your Life a rabid Presley fan holds out two strands of hair, saying "These are his locks" whereupon Groucho remarks "What, no cream cheese to go with it?"

Is that the episode on YBYL where she gets into a debate with her fellow contestant (a rather large man as I recall) about the "quality" of the then new Rock & Roll music?

(...as I recall, the guy also burst out singing some more traditional song in order to "prove" his point)
