Bill Travers

Post by stuart.uk »

for a long time i believed Bill Travers was a fellow Scotsman, so convincing was he in The Bridal Path and potential Olympic hammer champion in the delightful Geordie. on top of that was his outstanding performance as Scotty, the Scot's army officer in the western Dual At Diablo. however, it turns out he was English

Bill was also with real life wife Virginia McKenna one of the screens great romantic partnerships with The Smallest Show On Earth with Peter Sellers, Born Free and Ring Of Bright Water.

he was also romantically involved with Ava Garner in the begining of Bhowani Junction, before Stewart Granger got her. he was also a credible Robert Browning in The Bartlett's Of Wimpole Street with Jennifer Jones

Aaaah, it's the lovely Virginia McKenna that interests me. I believe she played the Mom in Gwyneth Paltrow's "Sliding Doors." "Born Free" of course. She was lovely.
