Just an idea for 2009. Since that will be the 70th anniversary of 1939, why not have a bestvorite 1939 movie? Someone could post a masterlist of the movies of 1939, and people could make their own lists from that. (This would settle the issue of whether "Of Mice and Men" was 1939 or 1940, or similar questions.)

I'm not much of a noir fan, (sorry!) but the 1939 bestavorite idea sounds great!

Today is the last day to get in your votes for Round Two of the Noir competition. The 8 survivors will square off in Round Three starting Tuesday, meanwhile they'll all be enjoying the holiday week-end.

Good morning Chris,

Sorry I can't participate in the "Silents" competition but I've simply seen too few of them. They're my least favorite cinema medium.

As always,

Hollis,
I'll miss your votes on the silents, but I'm glad you're able to check in.
Take care,
Chris

I haven't seen all that many silents, either, Hollis, but I'm hoping that when the finalist list is compiled I'll be familiar with at least some of them, and be able to express an opinion through my vote. This will also let us know about some good ones we haven't yet seen.
