Considering that it's Jack Benny playing the violin, maybe Levant isn't smiling; maybe he's wincing.JackFavell wrote:I love that picture! I don't think I've ever seen Oscar Levant smiling!

Ya know, it's gotta take a feller pretty slam-bang secure in his sense o' manhood to sport around in a chapeau like what Tim McCoy's wearing . .
That, or he learnt to bust broncs at the Eye-talian Clown School . .![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Klondike, when I posted that image of Tim McCoy, I thought to myself that a board member will definitely comment on that hat. Thanks for coming through.

Munchkin Meinhardt Raabe dead at 94
Raabe was best known for his uncredited, 13-second role in the Oscar-winning classic, during which he uttered the famous lines "As coroner, I must aver, I thoroughly examined her. And she's not only merely dead, She's really most sincerely dead." He was one of the last surviving Munchkins, according to the report

Re: *CANDIDS*
Yay! Three of my most bestest favoritest actors having birthdays on the same day: von Sydow, Morgan and Connors.
And Poncie Ponce! Wow, Joe, you know how to pick 'em. It's a very funny thing, but just about the only memory I have of an actual episode the TV show Hawaiian Eye is one that focused on an adventure of Mr. Ponce (now what was he on the show -- a cabbie?). I remember him crying at some point, and playing the ukulele at the end and singing "For You" to a pretty girl. How odd.
