Guys and gals, girls and boys, yin and yang...let's all give a big warm Record Party welcome to a special someone who's paying her very first visit to our ongoing little shindig...the one, the only UNI and her UKELELE...

Hey gang, it gives ol' Dewey great pleasure to welcome one of our favorite songbirds to the Record Party. She's agreed to do a bunch of her biggest hits for us, so let's really make her feel welcome!

It's none other than PETULA CLARK...

Love this thread! Except I have to watch it at 2 am, to get the youtube to feed through. Sigh.
I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with my kids this past weekend and wow. I always considered myslef fairly conversant with classic rock but boy, was I wrong. Especially about the groups of the 50's and the early influences. Try youtubing Leadbelly, Howlin' Wolf, Bessie Smith, and Professor Longhair for starters. Great stuff.

The hour is getting late here at the Record Party, gang. A whole new crowd is starting to show up and they're bringin' a sexy new vibe to the mix. I'm just gonna sit back and see what happens...

Wow. Mrs. Dewey and I just got back from a fun-filled day in the sun with some of our pals in Berkeley. All we did really was lounge around, drink a little and listen to 60s French pop music. Around a pool. And just cuz Dewey's a benevolent host, here's a sample of how the day went...courtesy of SERGE GAINSBOURG and some of his more alluring friends---

Serge Gainsbourg "All The Things You Are"

Serge G. "Mr. William"

Serge G. "Ballad de Melody Nelson"

"Sea, Sex and Sun"

Serge G. and Brigitte Bardot "Bonnie & Clyde"

Serge G. and Jane Birken "Je Taime...Moi Non Plus"

and finally, the mindblowing "Cargo Cult"

Later gators!

Like the never-ending juke-box in your head, the Record Party fills the gap betwxt the Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits. Say hello again to our 'always good for a bring-back' Monday morning line-up! Compliments of our good friends at Scopitone, Inc.

Just this morning the beautiful Mrs. Dewey gave me one of those looks and said, "Why aren't you playing that groovaliciously intoxicating Japanese pop music that I love so much at your oh so cool Record Party?" She had me there. So I made a few calls and cashed in a few favors. These are for you, Sweetheart!

The big beat reigns supreme at Dewey's Record Party. Just slide on in and have a listen to what our new best friend MONEY MARK (thanks, Mrs. D) has to say about it. Things are heating up at the Record Party!
