Theatre and film as discussed by Vivien Leigh, Ken Tynan and Samuel Goldwyn in December 1958 with Edward Murrow. Very interesting "round table discussion" as it were, the kind you get more of in Europe or used to among the theater crowd. Mostly they talk of the role of the producer, what accounts for appropriate casting, how do movies reflect politics or local social conditions, and what movies will be remembered over time. Quite lively conversation.

Thanks, Miss G. What a lineup! Occasionally, this used to be the kind of thoughtful discussion that sometimes occurred on American television forty or fifty years ago, though Americans' attention span seems to have shortened over time and back then it was usually led by someone like David Susskind and Alistair Cooke--not such a glamorously dazzling trio.
