Reminds me more of an old song than it does a movie here, Jim. You remember it I'm sure, with some of the lyrics being: "Well the girls are frisky in old Frisco, and pretty little chick wherever you go".

The Twelve Chairs (1970). [The film is not based on a Tolstoy work, but it mentions Tolstoy in its theme song: "Hope for the best, accept the worst, you could be Tolstoy or Fannie Hurst."]
