Thank you for posting that picture, Mongo... I just read the article about the ceremonies and I had tears in my eyes reading about the huge standing ovation she received. No one deserves it more.

It was my pleasure, Wendy and Eric. She is a special lady indeed.
Check out Lynn's coverage of the Oscar event. It's wonderful.

You certainly can see the Brando resemblance between the siblings, except in that photo of the two (from "The Chase"), Jocelyn looks much older. While never as well-known as brother Marlon, I thought she was a fine actress, especially effective as Glenn Ford's wife in "The Big Heat".

Gosh Joe, where do you keep coming up with 'em? You must have a studio still time machine.

Stone, I agree that Jocelyn Brando was a good actress although she couldn't catch her brother.
No doubt that they were close.
I search the internet for those images, Stone. A lot of work but it's fun.

Nice mug of Bogart, PT. Makes me want to go to church.

Thankee Joe, you sure add a lot to this wonderful site.

Man, does Bogart's mug show the ravages of his excesses. And he's only 56 in that photo.

He was still 55 in that photo -- and I actually touched it up a bit before posting! :o :P

Still a great shot, P.T. Love color shots of the vintage stars. But Bogie, unlike George Raft, who was five years his senior, did not age well. Kinda like Millard Mitchell and Paul Douglas.

I recall reading in one of Richard Lamparski's "Whatever Became of . . . " volumes that Alan Young claimed to have been considered for the role of psychopathic killer Tommy Udo in KISS OF DEATH.

Look at that face and tell me if Alan could ever be believable shoving a wheelchair-bound woman down a flight of stairs . . .

Anyway, a very happy birthday to Mr. Young.
