Poor, stupid, self-destructive, tragic, couldn't-be-helped Barbara Payton. I saw her in Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye (1950) opposite James Cagney a couple of weeks ago, and despite her inexperience, which did show at times, I thought she gave a strong performance - judging from that role, she had a lot of potential.
