Gasp! That picture of Tim Holt chatting with the kids makes me want to go watch some of his movies.... I have never really liked him much, probably because of his portrayal of Georgie Minafer.... but now I really have to take a second look ..... what a nice guy to hang out and talk to those kids like that!

John Saxon. The Italian boy from Brooklyn with the improbable name. Surprised they didn't name him Biff Whitebread.

Happy birthday, Carmine!

Judith, I'm not certain how old our Brooklyn paisan Mr. Orrico (Saxon) is today. Some sources list his year of birth at 1935 and others in 1936? It's nice to know that he is still active in the business.

You're right on the money, Judith - especially considering he was so often tapped to play a Mexican!
Then again, some times studio renaming was a smart, solid move, and in hindsight, practically a relief - as with our other birthday boy, Robert Taylor . . no, no, don't ask me, please, I can't bring myself to repeat his original 3-part moniker . . . it's just too farcical!

Joe, on Saxon's own website (johnsaxonsite.com) he says he came to Hollywood in 1954 at the age of 17, which would make his birth year sometime between '36 and '37. Boy, I'll bet he was the Darling of New Utrecht High School back in the day.

Wow Mongo:

I LOVE that photo of Bob Mitchum. I wish I knew how to do avatars because I would definitely use that for mine.
That's the kind of thing Mr. L would have called me in to see because he got a kick out of how I swooned over Mitchum, especially at right about the age that photo was taken. He did the same with Ann Miller.

Wow, loving the Henry Fonda picture.

Ditto "The Misfits" pic...the saddest movie I've ever seen...I swear you can smell the death in the air as you watch it.
