Butler couldn't have been represented any better than by the young men on the basketball team. With all of the intense--and unrelenting--media attention, to a player (and coach…and coach's wife) they maintained a modesty, decorum and sense of humor. In my book, on the court and off, the Bulldogs are winners.

And for the record, this weekend Indianapolis put on one hell of a show. Rallies, free concerts and 70-80 degree weather (with a few tornado watches just to remind everyone we're in the heartland.) Bravo.

Butler Bulldogs named Grand Marshall of the IPL 500 Festival Parade. Not bad as this is the 100th Anniversary of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The parade is May 29th.

It is now next year...and the Cardiac Kids from Butler University are right there fighting for the NCAA title in the greatest sport ever created. (And Duke isn't.)

Oh, PLEASE!

Attention, sports fans:

>>>> The Pack crushed the Pittsburgh Tin-Cans, & brought the Lombardi back to its first & only true home in Titletown <<<<

>>>> The Buffalo Sabres embarrassed Boston, and are currently hammering the so-called Devils from Guido-Land, with their sights on Silver Stanley. . . <<<<

And that's ALL that matters.

Tell those sneaker-wearing gymnasium slackers to graduate already, and get jobs!

Are you referring to those sports where everyone wears all of those pads and helmets for protection because they lack the grace and speed and coordination to play a full on body contact sport with constant action with little more than a cup and mouthpiece?

Oh,and, GO BULLS!!!

P.S. Check out Butler's graduation rate and then we'll talk about slackers.

Ha, you're funny!
Get back to me the next time one of your "athletes" runs at full speed for over 80 yards to score, or gets tackled by a 300# opponent and body-slammed onto raw turf . . then we'll talk about a REAL SPORT . .

Missed my point, Illinois Boy: adults should be watching grown-ups on TV, playing ball; you know, guys who have bought drinks in bars legally, with money from paychecks.
Unless you're dating a cheerleader from one of the competing schools . .

CLOSED CIRCUIT FOR NANCY:

This morning's Wall Street Journal ran a pic of JG as Dorothy Gale in a banner strip over the masthead, next to the color-box title, proclaiming:

Triumphs of the Underdogs

Toto, I've a feeling
Kansas is not in
it anymore

Name the only school to make the Final Four twice in the past two years.

That would be the Butler (enrollment: 4,640) Bull(Under)DAWGS!

What a shame they have to play VCU in the Semis -- whatta Final that would've made.

The Wall Street Journal also indicated that out of nearly 6,000,000 brackets filled out at ESPN.com exactly 2 got it right to this point.

To paraphrase Carl Spackler: Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A baby-faced 30-something coach, now, about to become the basketball champion. It looks like a mirac... It's in the hole! It's in the hole! It's in the hole!
