I think you're dashing a lot of women's dreams. He has worked as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company many years ago, I imagined, like others that he probably belonged on stage because he didn't have the film career he seemed to deserve. How long ago did you see him Kingrat and where? He still remains Mr Rochester for mekingrat wrote:Timothy Dalton looked very nice as Romeo. Like many film actors, coping with Shakespearean verse is not his strong suit. "Clueless" is not too strong a term. He got no help from his director, Terry Hands, who saw Mercutio and his friends as Malcolm McDowell's droogs from A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. His Juliet, Estella Kohler, was no better than he was.

Dalton was superb as a Time Lord leader in David Tennants last Doctor Who
Another Welsh actor worth mentioning was Ronald Lewis, who sadly committed sucide in middle-age. His films included Nurse On Wheels and Seige Of The Saxons

Oooh, I love Mr. Sardonicus!
I saw Anthony Hopkins on TV in the seventies as stage actor Edmund Kean in Sartre's play titled, oddly enough, Kean. Hopkins was never better. It's a shame it's not available on dvd.
I second the vote for Dalton as Mr. R. He is wonderful - maddeningly stubborn, willful, dark, heartbreaking, tender, larger than life.... sigh

Dalton was in a TV movie called LIE DOWN WITH LIONS, from Ken Follett's thriller. I didn't see it, but I liked the book.

You don't have the right chromosomes, ChiO.
