If martial law is declared, there is nothing to stop you from pronouncing Orson the king of film directors. :D

What a great idea! You watched REIGN OF TERROR, didn't you?

King Orson! And to knock him off, you have to go through Dan Duryea and Timothy Carey, two real loyal stand-up guys.

No, I didn't watch yet, but I got it recorded.

Yikes! Dan Duryea I could handle, but I'd never want to go up against Timothy Carey, dark alley or no!

What are we going to do about this "tie" of 8 votes each? Any suggestions members?

P.S. I'm not changing my vote!

I have plan -- and it's not a run-off or a coin-toss...or even declaring Orson Welles as the winner. It would be a slight variation on sending both on to Round 5, and it should be fair to all supporters of each.

Both would move forward to face the winner of the Ford-Hawks match-up. But instead of voting for just one, each voter would have the opportunity to vote for two. If there is a tie for the highest vote getter, then there would be a run-off (unless all three tie, in which case it's over). And we'll shorten the time the polls are open (4 or 5 days instead of 7).

But feel free -- please -- to send suggestions. There's probably a better way that has escaped me.

I believe any ties or other 'situations' are handled strictly by the one who created the poll....In this case, Judge ChiO has the final (and only) say in the matter.

Hold on folks. Hold on. Let's not get hasty here.

I am shocked. Shocked to find that there is VOTER FRAUD going on in this establishment.

Now if there is still a tie, I suggest everyone write a cogent, compelling essay as to why their choice should be...chosen. I can't believe what Hitch has to go through just to become a forgone conclusive "SSO FAVORITE DIRECTOR." Sheesh!! And Charlie...I'm surprised at you (even though I don't know you well). How could you turn your back on a fellow Brit? Hitchcock IS British, isn't he? Pip pip cheerio and all that sort of rot.

Ties or casually tie-less, I'd love to read your essay on Hitch, Mave.
